Edakkal caves Considered as one of the earliest centres of human habitation – Edakkal caves are located approximately 27 kms from Wayanad Hill View, Kalpetta. Nikhil Bangera, a visitor at Wayanad Hill View says, “A trek up the Ambukuthi hills, Edakkal caves gives you an idea of how the primitive man lived centuries ago.” Bangera, an editor at a publishing firm in Mumbai, who was at Wayanad with work mates. Incidentally, they were also privileged to welcome the rains in June 2007

Chembra Peak Interested in scaling the Chembra Peak at Wayanad? Situated 2100 m above sea level, Chembra Peak is the tallest peak in Wayanad. Says Ankur Shah (a tourist at Wayanad Hill View, Kalpetta in the summer of 2009), “Absolutely fantastic! Just scaled the peak and came across a heart-shaped lake enroute to the peak. Apparently, this lake is a hot-spot for elephants, deer and other wild animals to quench their thirst.” A senior IT engineer, Ankur further adds, “Standing atop, amidst the clouds, we had a bird’s eye view of Wayanad – highly recommended!”
